Thingyan Water Festival is the one of the famous festival in Myanmar, the largest number of people taking part in it throughout the country. This is a traditional Myanmar New Year festival, people pour water over each other in symbolic gesture of cleansing oneself of sins from the last year. Elder people take retreat in monasteries and young people go out for enjoyment. In New Year day, most of the people keeping Sabbath, going to pagodas and monasteries and offering food to monks. Paying respect to parents, teachers and elder person and setting free fish and other animals.
